We respect your privacy. This notice explains how we use personal information when you visit our website, contact us, request a quotation or become a customer. It is intended to meet the applicable UK data protection requirements, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and EU GDPR where that law applies.

Power Light & Link Engineering Ltd (PLLE) is responsible for the personal information described here.

2. Information we collect
Depending on your enquiry or project, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company details, project postcode, messages and any documents you choose to send. When you become a customer, we may also keep agreed work, installation and payment records.
Our server may process limited technical information such as IP address, time of a request and security-related events to keep the website working safely. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies in this initial website version.

We do not treat submitting a quotation form as permission to send marketing emails. If we later offer optional marketing, we will explain the appropriate legal basis and provide the choices required by law.
4. Who we share data with
We may share information when necessary with our hosting and email providers, IT suppliers, professional advisers, equipment suppliers or project and installation partners. We only share what is reasonably needed, and use appropriate safeguards and agreements where required. We do not sell your personal information.
Illustrative photographs on some pages are currently served by the Unsplash image service. Loading those images can expose connection details, including your IP address, to its delivery infrastructure. We intend to host approved photography locally before the public launch.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep data only as long as necessary. Our proposed retention rules include up to 12 months for enquiries that do not proceed, generally up to six years for completed contract records where appropriate, and legally required periods for financial records. Warranty issues, legal claims or other obligations may require longer periods.
Pending quotation enquiries are temporarily stored in encrypted form on our application server until delivery to our configured mailbox. Successful deliveries are removed from that queue. Actual retention arrangements will be verified before launch.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including secure transmission, access controls and appropriate handling of enquiry data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Transfers outside the UK
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we assess the destination and use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or safeguard. We will update this notice for the confirmed hosting and email suppliers before launch.
8. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restricted processing, object to certain processing or request portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it.
To make a request, email info@powerlightandlink.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the timescales required by law.
9. Complaints
If you are concerned about how we use your information, please email us with the subject “Data Protection Complaint”. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and investigate it appropriately. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Depending on the circumstances, you may have a right to contact a relevant EU supervisory authority.
10. Cookies and updates
See our Cookie Policy for information about site cookies. We may update this notice when our website, suppliers, operations or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear here.
